First day in Kraków
From all the towns I visited in Poland, I liked Kraków most. Kraków is a very lively town with a big old marketsquare where a lot of people meet. There are always some street artists around. At nights there are some places with live music. The whole old town is surrounded by a green park - this is where the town wall had been at some point in history. The old town itself is well preserved.
I stayed in Kazimierz, the jewish part of Kraków, in a nice hotel "Kolory". The rooms are very nice and are decorated with some painted wooden figures which are supposedly typical jewish art. The hotel is at the same time a bar and has some shop, where they sell these figures. A very nice and welcoming atmosphere!
Kazimierz had been "forgotten" for some time and got more attention after Spielbergs movie "Schindlers Liste". The factory of Oscar Schindler is quite near and can be visited. Today Kazimierz is a part of Kraków which is very attractive for artists.
